Founded in 2017 by Martin De Winter, DEWINTERMETALWORKS offers expert craftsmanship, executing designs of all genres from custom furniture to architectural elements and everything in between. Martin brings over a decade of experience along with a passion to explore the ways in which metal fabrication and art intersect. Drawn to the underrated versatility of metal, Martin set out to redefine metal fabrication as a sophisticated and artistic process rather than just a utilitarian one.
The shop is run by his wife Margaux, who also acts as DMW’s Director of Operations. Together, the duo strives to bring their client’s vision to life while also nurturing their creativity through As Bold As Brass, DMW’s design studio. Having been brought up in the Belgian countryside, both Martin and Margaux share a unique artistic sensibility influenced by European art movements such as Bauhaus, while also having a deep admiration for organic form and the weathering of time on raw materials.
